10 Top Fitness Classes & Trends

It’s all well and good us all trying to be motivated and get to the gym this month just because it’s a new year, but let’s face it, it’s still as hard as any month to get yourself motivated for a gym session on your own. The best way to workout and have fun while you’re at it, is to get involved in a class. Here are my top fitness classes and trends to try this year.

1. Warrior at Reach Fitness

A killer all-body circuit workout in Clapham North. Rich Tidmarsh and his team seriously know how to work you! Prepare for the climbmaster, it’ll have you sweating buckets. Rich also trains Millie Mackintosh and Professor Green, if that helps tell you Reach is the place to go.

£77 for 5 classes (first taster class is free)

2. Boom Cycle

Bringing the Soul Cycle vibe to London, Boom cycle is the most fun way to get your spinning fix. This is not your average local gym spinning class – Boom guarantees you won’t get bored!

£16 per class (or less if you purchase a few at once)

3. Sleek Technique

Do this ballet inspired workout in the comfort of your own home streamed live on your computer. Perfect for getting the long and graceful ballerina arms we desire!

From £7 per class

4. Flying Fantastic

Choose from aerial hoop, aerial silks, aerial slings, aerial yoga & static trapeze and prepare to work your flexibility and upper body strength. The perfect workout to NOT feel like you’re working out.

£20 per class (or less if you purchase a few at once)

5. Kayla Itsines

My favourite Australian PT with her amazing guide, which over 1 million girls are already using. Yes, it’s that good! Read my review of Kayla Itsines’ bikini body guide here.

Aprrox £50 for the full fitness guide

6. Paola’s Body Barre

Based in Fulham, you’ll find muscles that you never knew existed in my favourite barre class. The moves may look small, but let me assure you that you’ll struggle to move the next day. In a good way!

New member special – unlimited classes in your first month for £40

7. Fat Buddha Yoga

If I loved in London I’d attend Jess’ classes all the time. She had a modern approach to her classes and guides you through each pose with the most flaming of voices. Oh and just wait for the end savasana… it’s a dream!

From £8.50 per class

8. Nike January Series

Nike has put on some seriously awesome classes for next week, but spaces are limited. You need to sign up here and then you’ll be informed if you get a place. If anyone fancies paddle boarding, I’ll see you there!

9. Sweaty Betty: Fly, Flex, Flow

This class will give you a little bit of everything, from high intensity, to weights, to yoga and the best bit is that it’s free. Watch the video of what to expect here.

10. Harrods’ Happy New You

Another one championing the new year, new you vibe is Harrods. They’ve got some amazing free classes lined up for you – just email for a place and keep your fingers crossed. No doubt these will be in demand just like the Nike ones! Click here for details.
