This is a practice that is steeped in so much ancient wisdom and if students are willing to look beyond the asana practice, they will discover that yoga can change their life for the better… without even necessarily stepping onto a yoga mat. Yoga teaches us to slow down and to create space in our busy lives. It gives us tools and foundations to peel back the layers of the self, so that we can live from a place of more authenticity and more authority.
Cat Meffan is a globally-known yoga teacher, founder of the Soul Sanctuary membership and retreats. Cat teaches multiple styles of yoga including vinyasa, yin, rocket, embodied flow, meditation, pranayama and lots more. You can practice with Cat online for free on YouTube, or via the Soul Sanctuary app. Cat’s yoga classes are accessible for all levels and all body types.
Not only does sound healing have the power to bring us into deep rest and relaxation, but it also holds the magic to release deeply-stored trauma and emotion. When a space is safely held by a facilitator and people feel comfortable to be in their vulnerability and raw energy, deep catharsis can occur. This may seem a little overwhelming, but we must remember that the sound only honours and gives us what we need in that moment. Sometimes you might be drawn to tears, to laughter or maybe even sleep. There is no right of wrong, the key is to surrender.
Cat has been using sound healing in her own journey for the last 7 years and felt called to learn more. Now she is facilitating sound therapy, weaving it into her current teachings, both in person and online.
Meditation is an ancient practice that is finally getting the limelight it so deserves. There are many types of meditation, from visualistation, loving-kindness and mantra to silent meditation, breathwork meditations, walking meditation and more. Meditation has now been proven to reduce stress and anxiety and to help us cultivate more calm, peace and joy in our daily lives.
Cat teaches meditation both on YouTube and on the Soul Sanctuary app.
