It’s not very often I write personal posts, but I feel this one is necessary, as I’m sure many of you are feeling the same at the moment – a little bloated, tired and wondering how long it’ll take to work off that huge bar of Green & Blacks white chocolate…. I couldn’t help it, it’s my favourite! We just need to remember it’s totally normal and with a bit of dedication and motivation we’ll bounce back. And hey, what’s Christmas & New Year without lots of naughty treats!?
I’ve just come back from the most amazing break in Wales full of rich, delicious food and prior to that I was scoffing my face on roast potatoes and chocolate for Christmas. I don’t feel guilty for it because I was still going for runs with Rob, doing yoga and completing sweaty workouts. I also don’t regret eating all those bad things, but now it’s hit me that in one week (yep, just one week!), I need to be bikini body ready and I feel so far from it. I know that I’ve lost shape and I’ve put on weight – not that I know how much, as I haven’t weighed myself for about 10 years. Personally I think it’s all about how you feel, rather than a number, but right now I don’t feel myself. In all honestly I feel rather rubbish, but I’m definitely on track to change that.
It’s so important to not let yourself get down – think of how much fun you were having with family and friends over the last two weeks. It’s good to let go sometimes and just enjoy each chocolate biscuit as it comes! š We just have to be confident in the knowledge that we can get back on track and remember that there are so many otherĀ peopleĀ in the same boat at this time of year.
I’m a very motivated person and I’m really excited to get stuck in to my healthy eating and working out, but it’s the one week bikini thing that’s bugging me, as I really want to feel confident. I’ve already planned out my meals and exercise for this week and even though I’m not expecting to see physical results, I know that by next Sunday I’ll be the owner of a happier mind and healthier body. I’m going to start Kayla Itsines’ guide again from week 1, along with adding in my own yoga sessions and a couple of runs – can’t wait to have those sweat sessions in my life again!
The Kayla Itsines fans among you may already know that she’s promoting #thekaylamovement – The idea is that as many girls as possible start it tomorrow (January 5th), so we’re all in it together, sweating day by day!Ā I’ve just taken my ‘before’ photos, so let’s see how I get on this time around. Read my review of the bikini body guide here.
Who cares that I need to be in a bikini and so what if I’ve lost a little bit of definition in my abs, as long as I’m happy and having fun then that’s what matters.
