I’ve been hearing and seeing things about The Good Life Eatery over the past month, and I’m finally thrilled to say that I actually managed to make it over to Sloane Avenue to check it out.
I first heard about The Good Life Eatery from The Skinny Bitch Collective‘s Russ, who posted photos on Instagram of some pretty delicious looking juices and food. The problem with going there once, is that now I want to go back everyday for lunch or dinner!
My lovely friend Jemma and I went for a little leaving meal, as she’s off to India for a few months to practice yoga – nope, I’m not jealous at all. Not a bit. Honest.
Now, first things first… the cold press juices. The Good Life Eatery prides itself on being able to offer tasty juices, which still have all their nutrients locked in. Most of the juice places you come across use what is called centrifugal juicing. It’s OK, I didn’t have a clue what that meant either! What this means is that the fast spinning blades in centrifugal juicers generate heat, which kills most of the enzymes in the fruit and vegetables. The heat also oxidises those nutrients, basically making the juice less nutritious.
The Good Life Eatery uses a cold press hydraulic juicer, which exerts pressure, gently and completely extracting the natural fruit sugars, vitamins, trace minerals, enzymes and other vital elements. This is what makes its juices such a high quality with an amazing flavour. Another huge plus is that you can keep The Good Life Eatery’s juices for up for 72 hours.
The brains behind this cool, new establishment are Yasmine Larizadeh and her business partner Shirin Kouros. They meticulously sourced every ingredient from the grass-fed meats to the sustainable coffee, so that the customer consumes only the most ethical and high quality products available.
Now, the brownie bites. They are THE brownie bites. They were incredible and that’s really all you need to know. Basically, if you go there and don’t try them, you’re mad.
So in summary, as you can tell, I definitely recommend trying it out when you’re in the area…
