With many festive outings coming up over the next few weeks, and work still busy, we’re all going to be feeling a bit run-down in the lead up to Christmas Day and New Year. Rather than get to December 25th and feel like you need to rest for two weeks, I’ve teamed up with Zico Coconut Water to bring you the ultimate healthy pick-me-up green smoothie recipe.
I know everyone is really hot on juicing at the moment, but during this busy social month, you’re not going to want to be stood at the sink for 20 minutes everyday trying to clean out your juicer! Smoothies are perfect when you’re in need of a quick healthy fix.
Try to have this smoothie as many mornings as possible throughout December and you’ll start to feel brilliant!
Half an avocado – A source of healthy fats, containing more potassium than bananas.
One apple – Energy booster and high in fiber.
Half a cucumber – Great for rehydration and high in vitamin B for a quick pick-me-up.
Juice from half a squeezed lemon – Balances the body’s pH level and fights infections.
Spinach – Relieves stress and boosts your immune system.
Kale – High in iron, antioxidants and vitamin K, A & C. Great for hair, skin and aiding digestion.
Ginger – Boosts immune system & helps settle stomach discomfort.
Zico coconut water – Full of elecrolytes, great for glowing skin and aids digestion.
Throw it all into a blender and whizz it for about 1 minute, or until smooth.
Drink and enjoy!
