Hiking has been part of my family for many years, with my Grandparents taking my Dad for long walks in Wales when he was young. We still go to the same part of Wales now as a family and do some of the same walks, which is such a nice tradition. For me, hiking is such a beautiful way to connect with Mother Nature and to become mindful about the great outdoors around us. With technology as amazing as it is these days, it can be hard to truly switch off and remove yourself from the temptations of social media. I love to take photos while I’m hiking, but for the majority of any hike I do, I’m very much focus on the present moment, taking in the views, breathing in the fresh air and letting myself feel small in this epic universe in which we belong.

A couple of months ago I got an email that had me calling my Mum & Dad to mainly express my excitement and partly to check they didn’t mind me going on a little adventure without them! Hiking the Camino de Santiago has been at the top of a list of adventures I have saved in my iPhone notes for a couple of years now… ever since my Dad and I came across a YouTube video of a guy hiking one of the MUCH trickier sections of the ancient pilgrimage. It looked like such a beautiful hike with a healthy amount of challenging parts, passing by cute villages on the way, so I noted it down and vowed at some point in my life I would head to Spain and do the hike.

Fast forward to April this year, the amazing team from G Adventures emailed me to see if I’d be interested in heading out to Spain with them to hike the Camino de Santiago. Needless to say I replied within a few minutes to say yes! We head off on our adventure this month, so of course you can follow along on my social channels to see what we get up to, but the most exciting part for you all is this…

I know, I know, a lot of exclamation marks, but I feel they were necessary. 😉 My parents will most definitely be entering, so I suggest you do too! Here are the details…
